picture perfect

sometimes i take an deep look at myself and ask is this what i want.

putting on nice clothes just to impress girls and knowing that im not what they want.

but most of the time i look deeper into the obyss of  the pitch black.

thinking about my future and how im going to be an lawyer are skills most kids lack.

im just that one kid that wants to make it out and to never go back.

so i always roll forward, not down because gods lands is to flat.

im just that african american kid thats tired of being judged.

even though my people got beat with whips and other things, my mom said to never hold an grudge.

so you ask who am i?

i am that an proud free african american that can soar like a bird in the sky.

i am the past, future, and present,

i am that happy kid on christmas eve thats ready to open his present.

now you know who am i , at first you had no clue.

im that young black male living in me and you.
