Picture Perfect
Memories of a photograph
Showing what only wants to be seen,
Painting the perfect picture
That is you and me.
Nothing more than what you see
Just illusionary,
Of what it is we’re trying to hide
Beyond the frame you see inside.
On the picture you see
Our perfections glow,
Yet in reality
Nothing but flaws show.
The picture is a lie
A huge misconception
Of everything we aren’t,
But are in your perspective.
The one moment
Where happiness lies,
When in truth
We’re drowning inside.
No one same face
Hardly any smiles,
Do you see
The lies through the frame up high.
For there is no such thing
As a perfect picture,
For no matter what the frame shows
Beyond it lies the truth of reality.
We sit and play the part
What we know you want to see,
But beyond the frame
Who are we really?
