A Picture of Us

Paint me a picture of the future darling.

Of one early Sunday morning.

Studying you from the passengers seat, leave my heart on the dash.

A hopeless disaster, call me when you decide to settle

For a girl who sees you as perfect

Drive faster, talk slower,

Will I know you tomorrow?

Did I ever, will I ever,

I’d rather hear your voice, pull over and let me breathe.

Drive faster, roll the windows down, I like the way

Your lies sound.

When you see me next week will you have something to say,

I’d rather look in the rearview mirror then face the road ahead.

Wasted august nights won’t matter when I’m dead.
