The Pictureframe

It was damaged and abandoned

Hanging soulless on my wall

Smiling faces no longer remembered

Showing a relationship made to fall

I struggle to find the memories

Lurking deep inside my brain

Of days spent in naivety

More to lose and less to gain

The protective glass is chipping

The paint is wearing thin

As to signify the friendship

Disheveled by lies and sin

While the faces now are empty

Hollowed out by your offense

I must forgive and learn to love

Then happiness will commence
