Pictures on the wall

1 Timothy 6:6 New English Translation (NET Bible)

6 Now godliness combined with contentment brings great profit.

Pictures on the wall

Smiles are facing me in the morning

Grandchildren glancing at my eyes

Hard to understand the blessing,

That contentment and godliness bring

Counting blessings without number

Tears of the happy make me cry

How great is the gift of loving

As “The Eternal Bells” now ring?

Life unending shining in children’s faces

And so written by “The Lord of All”

A simple message for the true believer

That all is well for the special chosen

The bible proclaims more than phrases

But contains love for the great and small

Pain and uncertainty’s burdens relieving

Through Gilead’s Balm and Sharon’s roses
