A Piece of Glass

A piece of glass has been likened unto many things.

It’s pure, clean, and simple.

It lets light shine through it,

making rainbows as it pleases.

You can see the beautiful landscape through it.

But what about a dirty piece of glass?

It no longer shines,

no longer sparkles,

all you see is the shadowy hints of something beyond.

It’s smeared and ugly,

hasn’t been cleaned or looked at in a while.

But there’s one thing they have in common.

Both are fragile.

Both can be broken,

but which do you think is easier to break?
