In Pieces

"Just follow your heart," everyone says

But sometimes I don't know how to

Because my heart is shattered into thousands of pieces

And I don't know which sliver to chase after

And I'm scared that once I reesemble

These fragments

In your icy gaze, I'll be distorted

Medical tape holding together the heart you broke

But if I find someone else

An individual who actually cares

That's when I can remove the bandaids

And they can catch the shards before I break again
