The pieces left behind

A constant smile buries

the tragic tale behind me

Some are haunted by love

and others run from the

tramatizing truth

There's a lot in the world

That I just don't believe in;

I've always been to rational,

too cynical,

To let myself get swept up in stories

That would give me false hope.

I feared getting my hopes up too high,

And then falling so far down

I would never be the same.

All of this but I still

Chose to believe in you;

The moment I put my trust in you

Was the moment my world

Started to crash down

I didn't even notice I was falling

Until I was halfway down

And you weren't there to catch me.

I hit the ground hard and

I'm still trying to find all of my broken

pieces.
