Pieces of us,

Broken off,

Left to be,

Gone and lost, 

Before you see,

Laying around, 

Like specks of sand,

Littering the ground,

Searching,

 Trying to find,

What once was yours,

What once was mine,

Looking and looking,

Nowhere in sight,

Joining others,

Drifting,

Sifting,

Shifting,

Forming dunes, 

Blowing in the winds,

Lost pieces sing,

Haunting melody,

Like church bells they ring,

Lost to the world,

As we crumble,

Breaking apart,

Deserts form,

Vast and forlorn,

Dark and depressing,

Light nowhere to be seen,

Pieces pile,

Stretching mile after mile.
