Pieces of You

Phenomenal Woman

A Dream Deferred

John Ballard of Spoon River

Too Much by Tyler Ford

These poets have never known me

And I will never know them

But their words have touched my every thought

And somehow I understand them

I don't know them

And they will never know me

Be we are unified in an usual way

These words that describe our shared human condition

That I thought no one else would ever dare to say

They've expressed the thoughts I've buried deep

And for that I am so grateful

For through them I have come to know myself

And somehow know I'm normal

We will never know each other

And we may never meet

But hopefully you'll find pieces of you

By reading someone's poetry
