Pigskin and A Dream
Aj Harrison
Poem – Draft
PigSkin and a Dream
It all start in the 6th grade
Watching the game on tv with my family
Nothing special just a good time with those that mean the most
A spark hit my mind
It was my time to get out there, and be like the men on tv
Stricken with limited air supply, I fell short of my goal
But I knew I’d make it there one day
So I tried again two years later
Determined, and willing to fight
Did great my first year, but didn’t touch the rock
Wanting to have the skin in my hands, I tried again next year
Reaching my goal I was extremely happy so I took off
Like Usain on the track, and progressed rapidly
Time and time again I look back
Thinking of all my successes but they will mean nothing
If I don’t make my mama proud
The clearest dream of them all
