Pillar

The foundation of a structure

Holding up others weight, all while forgetting its own

The stress doesn’t show, to nowhere is where it can go

Doing its job, all while shielding its feelings

Being an image of power and will yet still it waivers

Knowing that it has to stand tall and be others savior

Although its insides are grinding and compressing

It holds back the feelings that are depressing

Meaning that when it crumbles it will be distressing

If it were to show the signs it would be replaced, fixed or tossed aside

But useful is what it thrives to be so when they come back holding up the building it will be

Until one day they come to see that the pillar had crumbled

Many are surprised, but only one is hurt

The pillar that had unfinished work.
