Pink

I often ponder

of when I was fonder of pink

I was much younger

and for pink I went bonkers

More than you’d probably think

As i grew older

the world grew colder

no more protections

adolesence no longer an acceptation

homeless and afraid

everyday I prayed

Dear God,

can you hear me?

I’m so very lonely

The world you made

is no parade
I need to be saved

I had to be brave

Now

In a desperate attempt

to remain exempt

I’ll hold onto pink

a love that will not shrink

Childhood’s faded

Everything is graded
My heart rests in pink

My personal missing link
