i know you could write a better poem than this.

i know because of the words you say to me,
each morning you voice a sonnet,
and every night you deliver a ballad--
just for me.

the word "poem" may seem intimidating,
a prestigious form of art only meant for philosophical minds

but let me tell you a secret:
a poem is anything.
a poem is simply an expression.
a poem is nothing.

and that's how i know
you could write a better poem than robert frost, edgar allen poe, or walt whitman

your abstract and unconventional and enchanting words are proof

and that's how i know
you could write a better poem than this.
