Pinpricks of Light

Silent, bright-eyed, constantly watching
The holes in darkness for a time stay lasting
But when time dies down all matter changes
The gaps are sewn, it rearranges

We see but what we wish to see
The time elapses peacefully
Calm down oh Tyrant of the Dark
Your wishes known, the contrast stark

Slowly, surely, a timely end
The holes are gone and cannot mend
Seen for years beyond their days
The imprint of the light does stay
