Pirouette

A ballerina lives in my heart

Dancing when you are near

She cannot break or bend

But exudes a crimson sheer

In darkness she glows brightly

In daylight she never fades

She twirls around with a vibrant sound

On pink and pointed blades

Her dress was tattered once

Her shoes lost to the wind

Her shine robbed of grace

Of the cardinal disciplined

She needed a color badly

She tried a sapphire fix

The hue was both of sky and rain

And dancing she did miss

The ballerina moved on to another

One with an olive stare

Shoes dress and shine were found

Mended by verdant care

Now two dancers sway

Pigments mix on cue

They relay a message, simply, thus:

Darling, I love you
