Pixelated Feelings

Watching someone eating candy on screen Them knowing it’s more artificial than it seems We all have a sweet tooth for destroying our minds But we somehow can’t get down from our sugar high All this scrolling gives me cavities. It seems sweet but it has downsides Being full of energy means full of headaches Battery draining like water after cake We fall for the advertisements So now we look like suckers Because we think we'll get kisses In a licorice filled truffle The natural honey turns into fake syrup Finding out everyone on media has a mask Cotton candy when it all goes away in your mouth Only a couple seconds in and you can’t get out It’s too late for a life saver We’ve hit pop rock bottom At least we still have our phone in our hands Milk and cookies calm but still cause harm Sprinkle the world with AI Our brains now feel like pudding Because we think that candy corn is great Until it goes into our mouths and you feel nothing. If my blood sugar’s too high It doesn’t mean I’m going to die I get down from this rush But can I have a sweetener in my life? It’s nice to have something sweet in our lives Dark chocolate’s good and bittersweet. But when my gum loses its flavor Where do I go from there? I don’t mean to sugarcoat this but Wait hang on It’s already sweet enough, I cant sugarcoat it Social media sticks like taffy to my eyes Blinded by a bright blue light Stressed spelled backward is desserts So I think I’ll be alright Or will I stay up late at night Phone glued to me like caramel when it dries Or the gummies that say they aren’t sweet But make me feel like im in a dream Reels feel like a delicacy of a confection Cherry on top if they make you buy something So if I ever feel marshmellow I scroll endlessly with my tired eyes Wanting something more than pixelated feelings
