The Place

It took a long time to get there, That place of contentment and greed. I walked along the twisted trail; I felt that I was free. I lived among the others, And I knew them all by name They called out to me on the hillside, I followed with slight delay. I could feel Your eyes upon me And how You told me to hesitate I tried to follow Your guidance But I was still urged to go the other way. As I soon lost sight of the others, I saw the sun breaking through the clouds, The rays of light embraced me And I knew what I had found. I saw all of Your creations Come alive with praise and awe. They moved along with such harmony And I knew like this, I could never fall. You took away my resentment You saved me from my pain You released me from my entrapment in anger And showed me everything that I had to gain. I could see my life before me And the task that was at hand I placed my feet into the water And let them sink in to the sand. I then saw him next to me The one who was from You We walked together looking up And felt the importance as it grew. It took a long time to get there, That place of significance and accord And now we will go hand in hand Walking on the edge of this world.
