This Place

(poems go here)

In the morning, I awake

To find myself in a place

Where the space is packed tight,

With the hustling and busheling;

This place is dirty and full of dull

 Colors of cement, brick red, and blacktop

Where the night’s canvas is completely

Blank and empty as the void;

Oh the noise, the loud and terrible noise

Is everywhere, in the streets, buildings, and

Even in your room, for it is always there,

Day and night.

But I heard that there is such a place

That is the opposite reflection of

The one I have just described,

One full of beauty that as

Shaped itself, not over the span of

Decades, but since the very beginning

Of time itself, and is at peace with all;

This place has the colors of the rainbow, with

Everything in between, imbedded within itself

Everywhere; This place is full of life, while

The other is full of decay.
