In This Place Called Memory
In this place called Memory,
No sound except those you make.
You want to stop, to sit and stare,
But there’s more for you to take.
In this place called Memory,
Sand stretches on for miles.
You know there’re rocks off in the distance.
You don’t linger, you just smile.
In this place called Memory,
The way is easy, the way is hard.
There’re ups and downs and round-a-bouts
And you let down your guard.
In this place called Memory,
Emotions flood your soul.
They overflow, you just might burst.
You continue towards your goal.
In this place called Memory,
The wind pulls back your hair.
The sun, it seems, has scorched your heart,
Given you times for you to share.
In this place called Memory,
Whispers carried on the breeze
As forgotten things come flooding back.
It puts your mind at ease.
In this place called Memory,
At times it may be trying.
A salty taste upon your lips
Makes you realize you’ve been crying.
In this place called Memory,
You laugh and jump for joy.
Your tears are made from happiness
From the time that you’ve enjoyed.
In this place called memory,
Some is added, some is lost.
You take it all, give nothing back.
There is no given cost.
