Places I have never seen

I never wanted to go back to that time.
Flipping on myself like an alien race.
Laying around was the price you paid
Just so you can just sit and lie to my face.

I cant give in to the desires of a broken heart
Spinning in a whirlwind of my own disasters
We were separate beings long ago
And sadly to admit, I am still just like you.

You were my rock when the world was shattered
Now we’re the soul survivors of the reign he had
Never even able to grow or outsmart our captor.
I sought to be indifferent, never actually being so.

I’ve traveled far, to places I longed to go.
But I didn’t want to return to you at all.
Seeing you brought up the terrors and hatred.
I wanted a hug but worried bout the burns I already had.

You tried to take me back, but I am a firm footer.
The places you took me were ever so heavenly
I couldn’t even grasp the moment of my death.
But, still, I never want to go there with you again.
