The Plague

A new life given to me, by the ancestors gone to be. Ain’t nobody gonna stop me. Got a new love, my heart fits my mind like a glove. My heart goes pitter patter, as those lives are lost to cancer. It was an early December morning, when another angel was called into heaven. There’s another man lost too soon. A cure needs found, but money is low, but the cost of life is high. That don’t change how I feel. I wanna see my Uncle one last time, but he was taken too early. He was the baby, the blonde haired, blue eyed inside linebacker. He was a man of few words, but a man who I looked up to. Loved that Cowboy’s blue. You just have no clue. I wish I could cross the bridge, and see him one last time. I wake up to a morning chime, This should be a crime, to feel the way that I feel. Just call it my Achilles’ heel. This disease plagues the world, kills a third of all people diagnosed. Just about 600K, I feel for the ones lost too soon, suffering aside, I wish you all were here. I just want you to be in the clear. I want to see my Uncle one last time, I never got to say goodbye. 700 miles were in between us, I was suppose to see you Christmas day, If only God could’ve waited 20 more days. None of us expected you to go so soon, Never would’ve guessed in a blue moon. You’re the reason I do what I do. I write of the plague that plagued you. I write.
