The Plague of the World

Love

An unbreakable desire

The bonding that wraps around each of our hands

Gentle words coated with sweet honey

Warmth spreading through your body

Some can’t take the simplicity of love

The hands that grasp our wrist

Cutting the wraps

The voice telling you more

You need more

Greed

How far does it go?

How far will it take you?

It strips you till naked

Leaving you breathless on the floor

And when you let it become your friend

You can never be free

Why would you want it?

Yet so many take it

And let it plague the world

Not a single person left to thrive

The ones I love get sick

They look at me with red gleaming eyes

And rip me apart

My friends ripped my eyes

My family ripped my heart

And the one the hasn’t, is the one that hurts the most

A partner that I have never found in the forest of love

Drowning in the lake of my mind

Cause they only want what I can’t give

I wish to be free

Maybe one day I will be free

Maybe one day I won’t be left with scraps

Maybe I will find the love

That won’t love greed
