Plaid to pained

Plaid jumpers squirm and itch, fidgeting piously; The Almighty hangs above, immaculate 'Neath the roof of His universal abode; A chorus of Mary Janes reverberates through the soul His voices echoing "This is the bread of life..." Ten years have passed since childhood Mass And now my life's a game; Though much improved 's my soccer pass Still much remains the same. And yet... Sweating teammates stood together, passing stories round; One walked in, a glowing girl, and cried a stresséd sound: On counters, pills, pregnancy scares, missing youth and poetry. Adulthood, with all its implications hit me then, and hits me now, That not everyone so remains as we were, Not even those I thought closest to me. jumpers squirm and itch, fidgeting piously; The Almighty hangs above, immaculate 'Neath the roof of His universal abode; A chorus of Mary Janes reverberates through the soul His voices echoing "This is the bread of life..."
