The Plant

When the plant dies

The bugs come in

They make sure your

Leaves are no longer straight

Their hair

You mean their roots, right?

And their legs

The stem is dry and ashy

And when the dog gets to it

Where the flowers lie at

The house

Before the night

Before your mother

I am handing it too you

And I'm telling you

But when

You lay your head on the bed

And have the plant laying over your shoulder

And saying goodnight, get some sunshine

There you lay down and smile

In a plant's voice

This is what a plant does
