Play The Song
Play the songs for the humans that don't even know me
blast the instrumentals for the homies
and the lonlies
for the people who need a "one and only"
and the ones who think "I need this EARTH to know me"
a simple snare can make a legacy
a slow piano can make us cry down to our knees
a gospel song can make me lift up to the God who smiles up above me
a song can make us question all of our cruelty
make us feel like fools to bleed
or bleed to feel humanity
the humanity with us
us we are the embodiment of Love
the Love that makes our heart race
we see that person and get that heart race and think we need a heart pace
pace ourselves to the rhythm
rhythm lives with him
him and her
her ex made her feel some pain when her left her heart broken
broken like an egg shell
egg shell weak
turned her headphones to its highest peak
thought about when they talked every night of the week
weekday or weekend
endings she thought just molded their relationships beginnings
beginnings to who she thought would be her future husband
husband she met a rock concert
concert for the band she listened to to cope when dumped by that man
man she met told her that he knew the lay of that land
land was familiar
familiar to him and her
her story wasn't exclusive
exclusive but this new guy was now included in it
it led them to belong
belong with a ring on her ring finger and watching corny movies together movies like King Kong
King Kong sized Love
Love that when they looked into each other's eyes they saw doves and fireworks
fireworks in the soul all because of a song
play the song for the humans that don't even know me
blast the instrumentals for the homies
and the lonlies
for the people who need a "one and only"
