Why
Are you looking at me like you don’t know
You do.
My fingers may have thawed out from
Waiting in the cold for you
And my eyes may have adjusted
After being kept in the dark
But my heart hasn’t.
For you,
That is as cold and as dark
And as broken
As ever.
