Playground Romance

When I am older

I think of the simplicity of love

Although it can be argued to be completely complex

But if you look at the simplicity of a playground romances

All of the complexities fade away

If you don’t believe me

Go to your local playground and observe the young romances

Somehow the little ones have it all figured out

They don’t really care too much about each other’s feelings

They are easily forgiven

They care strongly about each other and nothing is ever not given

Every minute of the all too short recess

Is spent with each other

Oh to be back to the basics of playground romance

Back to when the only thing that mattered most was

Favorite colors or birthday parties

To have the basics of cute little couple.

The blushing girl and the young gentlemen

To have the simplicity of a playground romance

Instead, we all have to grow up

We all have to learn that love is more than a playground romance

It is more complex

Is is harder than that

Love is hard

So just have the endurance to make it back to the cuteness and basics

Of a playground romance
