Playing With Fire

I am drowning in a sea of my own dreams. Every night they haunt my sleep, but I never know what they mean. I can try to run, but they'll chase me like a shadow. You took the sun and left me with nothing but cold. I didn't know this was a battle you wanted to fight. I want to know, was it really worth it just prove you were right? I guess what they say has to be true: "You live and you learn." Next time i play with fire I won't get burned. Going from place to place always singing a different song. Life's not easy to live when you never know where you belong. I can try to hide, but I'll always end up found. Just let me cry and watch my pain hit the ground. I didn't know this was a battle you wanted to fight. I want to know, was it really worth it just prove you were right? I guess what they say has to be true: "You live and you learn." Next time i play with fire I won't get burned. I can still see that night every time I close my eyes Everything was hanging by a thread and you cut right through it as you said you were leaving. Guess forever means nothing. I didn't know this was a battle you wanted me to lose. I guess you're gone and it's over now, I just wish I knew.

Anica Stemper

I love to write poetry, and usually make them into songs. Playing guitar, singing, and writing are my three passions. I have no idea how I would live without them.
