The Plaza and The Dancer

Her life was a crowded plaza, living on the face of a screen

This screen was just a shadow, the plaza a cloudy green

She watched the colors dance, her life a part of the act

But soon the plaza faded, leaving only the dancing black

Her costars began to fall, screaming a silent plea

Her voice was lower than a whisper, her vocals untethered from thee

The black felt so condensed, a thick fog behind the veil

Engulfed in only darkness, light was ill-received

This is about my journey in the past year, reaching a place of intimate isolation and darkness, but being aware of the change in my surroundings and in my peers.
