I keep voicemails.
I keep letters and notes and cards to read over to ground myself,
I keep pictures to remember how chaotic and beautiful it’s been.
I have ticket stubs and wristbands and memories of every little thing that was never a “little” thing.
I replay songs,
Hours and days on loop until I’m sure the lyrics and melodies are branded in my soul as they are in my mind.
I listen to voicemails.
When all that’s left is what I’ve saved I’ll have a million memories in those things that were never little to me.
I didn’t get to save all the videos and voicemails, but the ones that I have to bring me back I’ll always replay.
