Please Tell Me Why
I'm so sorry for everything,
You truly deserved the world, anything,
How could I have been so foolish as to not see?
How could I ever be lead to believe you only cared for me?
Was I not good enough for you when she came around town?
How dumb was I to not see your frown?
She smiled at you and suddenly I wasn't enough,
We will never be able to do any of that stuff,
That country road trip will never see the light of day,
Well maybe she'll give you her say and it won't stay that way,
It's over for you and I,
And believe it or not but I have no more left to cry
We talked about the future you and I,
To one another we promised to never lie,
You told me you loved you before we both knew what it was truly,
You were my knight in shining armour I never pictured you without me,
But all dreams must come to an end,
I don't think we can ever go back to just being friends,
Years I devoted to you,
To you I was true,
I thought I loved you but I should have known,
I was never more than a source of entertainment, a clown,
'H' really captured your heart didn't she 'B'?
I know I need to move on soon but we'll see,
You were once my best friend,
Now I just wish these memories would end,
To me you once said "For you I would hold up the stars",
The way things are going now I wish you were on Mars,
Far away to where you could never hurt me,
Far away to the point that if I closed my eyes for a second you wouldn't be all I see,
You should be sorry for everything,
I truly deserved the world, anything,
How could I have been so naive as to not see?
How could I ever be lead to believe you only cared for me?
You were not good enough for me before she came around town,
How dumb was I to picture myself standing with you smiling at me as I wore a white wedding gown?
"Why do I feel so sad, when I know it was all your fault? Please just for once answer me 'B', what did 'H' have on me . . . ?"
