Plunging

You flowed away from me, i reached out desperately, and you slipped through my fingers - my nails short, half-moons showing - grasping at the currents, i no longer can touch. You're hard and cold your flow creating canyons in my heart, digging deep, shifting silt, revealing lost treasures and unknown fixtures scary, old, new and tired. You raised me up - Had me- Completely, floating on golden waves bathed strong by the evening sun. But you receded suddenly; sliding me off the crest slowing turning white; with caps, your departure dropped me Into the depths. The depths. Black. Tense. Filled with unknown. No place had direction rolled, I was, over and over - over. My head broke - free surprising my mind the sea storming around me My only thought: survive. Swimming impossible; Floating un-do-able; Treading, barely. Unbelievably, the sun broke; through the clouds, the mist, the depths. I slowly crawled, …inch … by … inch ... raising myself out of the waters, the depths, the sucking cold. I walked away occasionally looking back - My footsteps disappearing covered by water but the ripples go on for Miles.
