P.M. Expectations

It's the p.m. and/
I'm slacking off again/
But I'm thinking hard/
About what it means/
To be living in so called /
Screwed up society/
Minding my Q's and /
Seemingly pointless P's/

It's the p.m. and/
Curfew is drawing near/
I'm over the fence/
To get my thrills/
I walk into the night/
With confident steps/
Fear won't make me a victim/
In my own shadows/

It's the a.m. but/
It's bedtime now/
If I can make it /
To that home that's /
Mostly just a house/
Where machines live/
Programmed by media and /
Characterized by regret/

It's the a.m. now/
But the p.m. elsewhere/
It doesn't really matter so /
Why should anyone care/
We all live to be the same /
Shying away from change/
And acting like there's a prize/
So that we can say we've won.

I'm a high school Junior and a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, but words and expression are what I'm all about. I've been writing and telling stories ever since I remember. Which, considering my memory is truly unreliable wouldn't actually be long, so let's say before that even. I hope my little random thoughts and expressions make others feel something, because that's the true purpose of art, at least I would say it is.
