I am one man

among many

trying to write a piece of poetry

a daunting task at first, but one must see

of what a poem is composed

of - simply prose

will do sometimes.

There is no urgent need

for rhymes

or concern for reading speed

and syllables.

The requirement of loose

rhymes is not that critical

either, unless you choose

to write that way.

But then, I am no poet

I could not then say

how to properly decode

a lyrical construction made

to amuse, bemuse, impart

feelings and concepts.

This piece may not even start

to finish that project.
