"Because I love you" and "you know I love you"

Were the words I heard from a man I was supposed to trust

He was supposed to be my protector, my knight in shining armor

Yet he betrayed me each time I talked to him

How can you be my pops, but still lie to me non-stop?

You say you love me, but you never show me

However, when it comes down to my mom and brothers

We have a bond like no other

We laugh, play, and make fun of each other

But you can do that when you love one another

Of course, we argue and sometimes fight

But that happens in life, right?

The healthy relationship recipe

Include having respect, loyalty, and honesty

Along with showing affection and understanding each other

If you don’t have it why bother

Because I don’t see a point in telling

Someone something with no meaning

Because I love you

Means nothing if you don't prove it

Don't make excuses for your mistakes and try to blame it on me

Or use Because I love you to set your heart free
