Poem by a Frog
Muggy water, gooey mud
Lily pads with bright pink buds
A fish, a fly, a heron
Swarming swirling swamp, a heaven.
Rain! A great grey day.
No day as great as a grey rain day.
Hark! A slithering snicker
A dusty musty muddy buddy
A flame, a fork, a flicker
Snake, drake of the lake!
Silly snake, sneering snarky smirks
Stretching from eye to eye.
Slurp! Into the lake, snake, goodbye!
Muggy water, gooey mud
Lily pads with bright pink buds
Home.
