A Poem I Could Never Show You

I just want you to love me

Is that too much to ask?

To hold me

When the world

Has made me cry

To be strong for me

When I can’t be strong for myself

To tell me I look beautiful

When I really need to hear it

To listen to my words

Even when they don’t make sense

To let me hold you

When the world has made you cry

To let me be strong for you

When you can’t be strong for yourself

To let me tell you that you’re handsome

When you really need to hear it

To let me listen to your words

Even when they don’t make sense

I just want to love you

Is that too much to ask?
