A Poem For Mark

You held me back from life, But I broke free. I can finally live, I can be me. No more pretending; the light can show. I see through the lies, I already know. Protection around me, you can’t come near. The love I have for you is my only fear. Temptation arises, my mind compressed, Memories of the past; lonely and distressed. So vivid, the memory, feelings are strange. To clever, I know, you’ll never change. I won’t comeback because you’re determined to be the same. I say, “I love you”, but love fades And it will continue until none remains. I found myself, no longer astray. Left behind all of my delinquent days. It’s done it’s over, I’m now at peace. All of your malignity has been thrown away; released.
