A Poem for the Mind
The challenged child writes for expression
But from writing, I gain a different possession
Each gear in my head individually turns
And the fuel of greatness steadily burns
Writing is an exercise- a form of training
My wit it stimulates, thoughts maintaining
It calls for a sort of cunning, a bit of clever
Which the gears spin to prove when a poem pulls the lever
There is no form greater which words can take
Nothing more genuine, but all more fake
Novels and essays tell knowledge and stories
But only in poem are a person's true glories
Everything they are, everything they can be
Must be expressed not but perfectly
Only when thoughts have been rightly conveyed
Only when this, the pen shall be stayed
Something wrong with this poem?
