A Poem of Release

I drift away into the screams

They fade to white noise

I hear only the voices in my head

Help

Where did they all go

They said they would stay

I thought this time would be different

Wasn’t I getting better

What did I do

I get so close but remain so far

Why me

When will things change

Do people change

Is it worth it

I give up

Empty

Life moves slow

I pause in the moment and look around

Like a blackhole I begin to fade to nothing

I cascade into the darkness

Gravity pushing down on me like the hand of God

I look to him for release

Goodbye

Nooses draped on the bed

Happy pills dreaming on the shelf

Plastic bags with faces on them

Blood splashed on the walls

Body limp resting on the floor

Eyes staring into the stars

Silence

Relief

Finally I can breathe

Finally I smile

Finally I see the light

FInally I feel the warmth

The sun is radiant and I feel the light

Washing over me I am a goddess

I am free
