The Poems

I sigh and slump away from the work in front of me

I need a break; my mind wants to flee.

My eyes drift up and are set at ease

With a breath of fresh air from a set of these

Poems I cherish more than any I've ever read.

What makes them special isn't what you'd think.

Not the evoking words or color of ink.

The pile of work is soon forgotten while

I'm engrossed in the poems with a silly smile

Because they remind me of one I love.

The words dance off the page and share good tales

In vibrant colors and perfect details.

No one could appreciate them as much as I do,

And there's no perfect way to truly say thank you!

But for now, this poem and a hug are a good start
