Poems For Darcy

is it a comfort

the familiar faces

the path you have walked

time and time

again

your life is shaped

not by others

every step you take

day in

day out

your life is a novel

but did you have a say

or do the authors determine the story

perhaps we are puppets

perhaps we determine our stories

fables to be written down

we can be immortal

is it a comfort

to know that your everyday life

the familiarity, the sameness

every step is yours

every familiar face

you write the novel

be the hero

in your own story
