Poems in my Head


I cannot go to sleep, for there are

Poems in my head.

I laugh, I think, I weep the words to

Poems in my head.

I toss and turn and can't escape the

Poems in my head.

Ideas racing through me scrape the

Poems in my head,

And

The headless nighttime whispers sing the

Poems in my head

While the dark walls' very shadows bring more

Poems to my head.

Nothing nightly's what it seems except for

Poems in my head.

At long last sleep my dreams will be

Just poems in my head.
