Poet Tree

Poetry or the Poet Tree?

Where does my allegiance lay?

Will I honor and continue the current age,

Or just create a new Day.

The Poet Tree brings Popularity

Giving Posterity

Against Polarity,

But I say Poetry above Popularity,

Eternity over Normality,

Imagination that creates a Sensation

That saves our world full of desensitation.

Poetry or the Poet Tree?

Full of rappers and head bangers

And self Proclaimed Hall of Famers.

Why are you so great?

Cause you have a label on your chest

Or a pretty gold vest

Or a motive to make it seem good to act more and think less?

Forget the Poet Tree!

Bring the Poetry!

One nation not under vanity.

But Art!

Poetry or the Poet Tree?

Where does my allegiance lay?

Long live Poetry!

Bring on the new day.

Honestly, though poetry is not a subject I tend to visit frequently, I enjoy reading and deciphering the meanings of any poetry in all forms. As a music enthusiast, I find that music with lyrics that have no purpose might as well not of included the lyrics and just sold the instrumental. As an actor, without the many poetic forms involved in theater acting wouldn't have its impact. So in a way, by becoming a poet, I am completing a required skill set needed to be successful in my industry. I am an African-American Male with a heart of gold, a mind of power, and a soul found only in the depths that is the bible. I am an artist. And not just in a sense of art like pictures or paintings, but an artist in the sense of creating things and beings and characters and messages of magnificent magnitude. I live in my mind and soul. Poetry can o0nly show my true form.
