Poetic and Powerful

I never could play a sport, my body was too weak.

I asked God why he made this way, I wanted a trophy and for them to praise me.

See that was my passion not my purpose.

Poems are where I got my peace and satisfaction.

"Ain't I Women" that's a poem I'll never forget.

I knew I had that power in my voice too , so I picked up a pen.

When I write  I tell about life, I tell it whether it's hurts or heals.

Take from another writer, nah lives I shall not steal.

When I write ,I can be real, it saves my life.

My heart it tames, my embrassement goes away.

When I write there is no shame in my game.

I've made mistakes, those in which I write.

When I tell my story , I help another life.

Poetry is more than some words put toghter to me.

I haven't won a trophy for it, but I've won an adventrous life.
