Poetic Construction
Poetry is an archetype for escape;
inner problems and sufferings
become diminished and sometimes eradicated.
A round tower it is like,
in thick forest every poem,
every stanza, every line, is a building block.
Build it enough high and tree tops
become irrelevant, when ones view
is like the clouds, drawing boards call you to plan.
Enemies of mine that travel by shadow have arrived
at the edge of the glade, under the tree line they are ,
eyes can tell, demolition is on their minds.
My compositions are still young
but like “Pharaoh” the ring leader of the ninth hell
sends a specialist class of grim reaper for the newfound poet.
Jager, jagermeister, the hunting master.
Encircle the tower his black hounds
now are, clawing at the foundation blocks.
The very foundation that helps overcome my demons;
deal with inner problems and sufferings...
