Poetic Expression

I say I don’t care, I say it doesn’t bother me; I say it all because I have the company of my poetry. I don’t write to impress, It’s an expression of myself. I write what I can’t say So my feelings aren’t on the shelf. I know who I am And all the things I say, So I use poetry to show you How I do things my way. It’s an escape, It’s an expression, It’s a safe haven, From all of the oppression. And you can’t steal this Or take my inner thoughts away; This is how I think and feel So my poetry is here to stay.
