Poetic Justice
They say that there is power in silence,
But it seems to be,
That insight divulges through silence,
Yet the power is within in you and me.
Silence sanctions listening,
And listening employs thought.
Thought cultivates ideas,
But the idea is just the start.
Ideas are spread by words,
But actions amplify at larger decimals than them.
The art of creating articulations is the real power that lies within.
I’m silent because I’m listening to the stories of my friends,
Words are constrained by injustice,
Whose thoughts are constrained by poverty.
For them my articulation through pen and paper flows with fluidity.
I write because it’s power,
To evoke a social change.
To help mold the lives of many.
To diminish poverty constrains.
See, writing is breathing,
And breathing is living,
And life is you and me.
I write to breathe.
I breathe to live.
I live to write for those whose words society does not see.
