Poetic Lover

Your words were haikus whispering sweet nothings in my ear.

Your kisses were a warm sunrise after a stormy night that made me quiver in fear.

Your body warmth up against mine made my world shake from within

Like a volcano erupting, but is now something gone from pure sin.

How could you have left with no words expressing goodbye,

Wishful thinking makes me believe you'll show up at my door with an awaited "Hi".

How I long for your eyes to stare at me once more with lost love,

Yet you've turned rotten into a man of lies who holds an ashen dove.

Do you think of me as I think of you? Are these countless nights of staying up late-

Worth the pain in my chest that increases with every heartbreak?

Shatter me with your sweet whisperings-

For you are my poetic lover.
